ASCL ACADEMIC PROGRAM

Students in ASCL complete a summer orientation co-facilitated by BSU and ASCL staff in addition to a formal two-day orientation available to all incoming freshmen. They then enroll in a 6-15 credit academic schedule, developed individually using BSU’s first-year testing, placement, and advising system with additional support from program staff. This support continues throughout the year, with group and individual activities to practice time management and study skills, office hours and tutors for individual attention, and additional help with financial aid and scholarship applications. The ASCL program also includes a summer internship placement for students to gain valuable experience, explore career options, and to build self-efficacy.
