The Home for Little Wanderers encourages caring individuals who are committed to our mission and who share our vision to apply for positions within our organization. Our programs include residential and community-based programs, and three private special education (Chapter 766) schools. Employees typically work with adolescents, toddlers or latency aged children and their families in the program that can make the best use of their talents, interests, experience and education.

While applicants come to us because of their interest in working with children and families, it is important to know that our employees are rewarded not only by the work they do, but also with a competitive salary and a strong benefits package.

Some of the positions for which we are always accepting applications include:

Certified Teachers: 
Our Chapter 766 schools are often in need of certified special education or subject area teachers. We encourage qualified educators. 

For interested clinicians, an MSW and professional licensure (LCSW, LMHC, LICSW) is a requirement. However, for some programs, a relevant graduate degree with strong experience and bilingual skills may be appropriate.

Direct Care Counselors:
Our counselors are directly responsible for the day-to-day lives of our children. For these positions, we require experience with children and a sincere interest in working with our special population. We prefer that our counselor applicants have some educational background in psychology, child development or human services.

Food Services: 
For interested food service professionals, a ServSafe certificate and experience working in a kitchen. Familiarity with the school lunch program is helpful.  We hire food service staff for full time, part time, per diem floater positions, and substitutes. 

Registered Nurses:
For interested nurses, a current RN license as well as experience with pediatric and/or psychiatric populations is highly desirable. We hire nurses for full time, part time, per diem, or floater positions.

Occasionally, there are opportunities for management, finance, fundraising, or administrative positions.
