Intensive Foster Care

The Intensive Foster Care (IFC) program finds loving and stable homes for children who are currently in the care of the Massachusetts Department of Children & Families (DCF) who are residing in residential programs, temporary foster care homes, or with their birth parents who are unable to care for them.

Children in IFC are often struggling with emotional, behavioral, developmental, and/or medial challenges. Our primary goal is to prevent institutionalization and to shorten the hospital or residential placement stays of children with special needs.

IFC provides a safe nurturing, supportive and therapeutic placement for youth in their journey towards their permanency goals. It also provides services and supports to foster families to ensure a successful placement.
