Turning Lemons into Lemonade
In a turnabout of a phrase with which we are all familiar, "When life gives you lemons make lemonade!" We know some children whose lives are full of good things like lemonade, but haven't forgotten that not all children are as lucky.
Robert Steele was inspired to “help kids in an orphanage” after watching the children’s cartoon “The Rescuers.” Robert talked to his mom about it and discovered the best way to help these children was to donate money to a place like The Home, but he didn’t have any.
Determined to do something, this entrepreneur-in-the-making organized some classmates from the Pierce School in Brookline and together they made and sold lemonade and brownies (with the help of a few moms). In the end, they sold out of everything. When Robert counted the money and saw that he made $116.89 for The Home, he was thrilled! The look on his face: priceless!
