Car Donations

Make a difference in the lives of at-risk children by donating your used vehicle. The Home for Little Wanderers is looking for donations of unwanted, intact automobiles that will be sold at auction to benefit the children and families we serve. It's easy to do, towing is included and you'll get a tax deduction.

We accept cars, trucks, trailers, boats and RV's!

How to Donate Your Vehicle 

  1. Complete the Vehicle Pick-Up Request form online

  2. Once we have received the form, a towing service will call you within four business days to schedule an appointment to pick-up your vehicle

Q: What can I donate?

A: We accept most cars, trucks, trailers, boats and RV's. If you have any questions about what you can donate, please call our processing service center toll-free at 1-800-513-6560 seven days a week.

Q: Is my donation tax deductible?

A: The Home for Little Wanderers is classified with the IRS as non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Donations to The Home are tax deductible. Individual tax situations vary so please check with a tax professional to determine how you may benefit.

Q: What do I need to donate my vehicle?

A: The car program would like the title to the vehicle, but if you do not have it please call anyway. It is possible that other arrangements can be made. Please call the processing service center toll-free at 1-800-513-6560 seven days a week.

Q: My car hasn't run in years. Can I still donate it?

A: The car program is able to accept most vehicles, running or not. The only way to know for sure if your vehicle can be accepted is to have you complete and submit the "Vehicle Pick-Up Request" form. However, the condition of your vehicle will affect the fair market value of your donation.

If the processing service center determines that your donation can not be sold for enough to cover the expenses involved with selling donated vehicles, they will call you within 48 hours to decline the donation.

Q: How is the value of my car determined?

A: The IRS allows you, the taxpayer, to claim a tax deduction of (a) the value of your vehicle up to $500 or (b) if we sell the vehicle for more than $500 we will mail you a postcard with that value for your tax purposes.

Q: How will the car be picked up?

A: The processing service center will arrange to have your vehicle towed away at a scheduled time.

Q: How long will it take to pick up my car?

A: Once we've received the completed "Vehicle Pick-Up Request" form, you will be contacted to schedule an appointment within four business days. If you need your car picked up sooner, please call toll-free at 1-800-513-6560 seven days a week, the processing service center may be able to make those arrangements upon request.
