Help Along the Way

For more than 200 years, The Home for Little Wanderers has earned a reputation for doing whatever it takes to strengthen vulnerable families and keep children safe in their communities, even when they don't have family support. Serving children and youth from birth to 22, The Home makes a positive impact on over 7,000 lives across Boston and Eastern Massachusetts each year through a network of behavioral health services, therapeutic residential, special education, adoption and foster care.

Voices & Visions 2015 

The Home’s 11th annual Voices & Visions fundraiser was a huge success! Guests viewed imaginative artwork, poetry, and prose that children in The Home’s care created as part of a year-long art curriculum inspired by the theme, “Who Am I?”

Help Along The Way: Honoring the First Five Graduates from ASCL

Help with higher education for youth aging out of state care is provided through The Home's Academic Support for College and Life (ASCL). In this video, the first five graduates of ASCL are honored as they tell their personal stories.

One Family's Journey Through Foster Care 

There are thousands of children in the foster care system, including siblings who want to stay together. The Home presented the Sabino Marinella Award to Tim and Lauren Miner and their family at Voices &Visions 2014 in recognition of their advocacy to keep sibling groups together and raising awareness about this need in suburban communities. Who We Are

In an effort to provide a clearer representation of the seamless continuum of services that The Home for Little Wanderers provides for every stage of child and family development, the non-profit agency partnered with leading branding agency Corey McPherson Nash to evaluate its brand strategy, a new logo and this video explaining our mission.

Donated Toys Spread Cheer

Throughout the holiday season, Pat Villani of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage organized over 35 different drop-off sites for the Big Wishes Gift Drive, collecting thousands of toys for the children in the care of The Home.

5th Annual Gingerbread Decorating Contest

The Home's annual Gingerbread Decorating Contest brings together children, chefs and other well-known faces from the community to benefit the Big Wishes Gift Drive.

Voices & Visions 2013 Sabino Marinella Award

At this year’s Voices & Visions gala fundraiser, the Sabino Marinella Award was presented to a group of 18 young adults from The Home's programs who have chosen higher education in pursuit of their personal career goals. Three of these young people agreed to share their story.

Caring for Children: Reasons to Become a Foster Parent

The Home's Intensive Foster Care (IFC) program is committed to providing loving and stable homes to children currently in the care of the Massachusetts Department of Children & Families (DCF) who are residing in hospitals, residential programs, temporary foster care homes, or with their birth parents who are unable to care for them.


No One Wants to Gamble on a Child's Future

This public service announcement was created in 2011 by a Northeastern University student to help raise awareness about some of the challenges facing youth who are aging out of state systems of care. The Home for Little Wanderers and the Massachusetts Task Force on Youth Aging Out of DCF Care are committed to making a difference in their lives.


Child Abuse Prevention Month

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. In Massachusetts approximately 630 children are confirmed as abused or neglected in every week. At The Home for Little Wanderers we work to stop the abuse before it occurs. Hear what The Home's President Joan Wallace-Benjamin has to say about this important issue.


Become a Mentor or Foster Parent

Glen "Big Baby" Davis teams up with WCVB-TV/DT5 and The Home for Little Wanderers, to raise awareness about how a mentor or foster care parent can make a difference in the life of a child.
