Youth at Harrington House have a sporty new rec room, thanks to a generous renovation gifted by Onex Falcon to honor the memory of former Managing Director Christopher A. Thorsheim, who passed away in April 2021 at age 57.
The Onex Falcon team, family members and staff at The Home recently gathered to dedicate the revamped recreational space. The new rec room has a soccer theme to reflect Chris’ passion for the game and was designed with input from the young residents. In addition to new furniture, paint, flooring and HVAC, the space has an entertainment center for gaming and movie nights, plush beanbags, a glowing foosball table, karaoke machine and plenty of games.
The renovation is a fitting tribute. “When people talk about Chris, they talk about his youthful enthusiasm and his generosity,” shares Bill Kennedy, Managing Director and COO of Onex Falcon and Chris’ lifelong friend. “He was a big kid your kids would have loved.” At work and at play, Chris brought joy to everyone around him. His presence lives on at Harrington House within this fun, friendly space that allows our kids to take a break from their struggles and just be kids.
