On Tuesday, November 26, volunteers from Saint Athanasius the Great Greek Orthodox Church assembled 500 Thanksgiving dinner kits at The Home for Little Wanderers’ site in Roslindale.
Kits containing turkeys, produce, gravy, stuffing and more, were then loaded into cars and delivered to youth and families throughout Greater Boston and New Hampshire who utilize The Home’s services. By providing filling, nutritious, and festive meals during what is often a challenging time of year for families, The Home and Saint Athanasius the Great Greek Orthodox Church strive to offer a foundation for positive experiences and bonding that builds resiliency for kids and families.
This year’s Thanksgiving meal kit assembly continues a tradition between The Home and Saint Athanasius the Great Greek Orthodox Church that now spans over three decades. Joined by The TJX Companies, which sponsors multiple fundraising events through the year for The Home and donates all bags that hold each family’s dinner kits, The Home has had the privilege of supplying Thanksgiving meals and warm memories to thousands of families.

Year after year, we are amazed by the generous efforts put into this drive. Especially on days like yesterday, when volunteers spent much of their time out in the rain! Thank you to our friends at Saint Athanasius the Great Greek Orthodox Church, The TJX Companies and STAG Industrial for helping families create positive holiday memories over a nutritious Thanksgiving spread.
