DMH Transitional Age Youth Program

rcp2 1

The Department of Mental Health Transitional Age Youth program (DMH TYP) is a group home for young adults ages 18-26, located in Boston’s Roxbury neighborhood at the former site of our Roxbury House program. The individuals living at DMH TYP are preparing for their transition to independent living. Serving as a bridge to adulthood, this program provides services to help residents develop the necessary life skills for a fresh, positive start on their own.

Using a strength-based approach, staff at DMH TYP work to empower young adults and their families. Services include:

  • 24-hour therapeutic milieu
  • Individual and family therapy
  • Case management
  • Peer mentor / Family Partner support
  • Psychopharmacological consultation and management
  • Health care coordination
  • Psychoeducational groups
  • Individualized support planning
