Young Adult Programs

Hillsborough Village

Hillsborough Village offers scattered site housing in the Manchester, New Hampshire area for young adults ages 18-21 who have aged out of state care. Hillsborough Village is designed to be an intermediate step between program-based units and independent living, offering young adults autonomy, as well as ongoing support, services and connections. These independent units are a seamless transition for the young person and promote better long-term outcomes, as residents have an opportunity to work on personal and professional goals, build life skills and save for a place of their own. Hillsborough Village works with property owners across the state to identify housing in or around the area the youth grew up, when appropriate. In multi-bedroom units, youth are matched with other young adults involved with the Division for Children, Youth and Families (DCYF). To qualify for the program, the young adults must be actively working on a treatment program with DCYF. This may include educational goals like finishing high school or attending college, job training and job readiness, or building and practicing general life skills.
