Early Childhood Mental Health

The earliest years of life lay the foundation for lifelong learning, relationships and well-being. From birth through age five, a child’s brain develops at an extraordinary pace, making early experiences and nurturing relationships critical to healthy social, emotional and cognitive development.

At The Home, we partner with families and early childhood professionals to help youth across our communities reach their full potential during this time. Our offerings include early childhood mental health consultation, outpatient counseling for children and their families, embedded partnerships that bring behavioral health expertise into childcare and school settings, and professional development opportunities that build the skills of the early childhood workforce.

Recognizing that those who care for young children also need support, The Home’s Center for Early Childhood launched the Caregiver Assist Line of Massachusetts in 2026. This non-crisis helpline was created specifically for early childhood professionals, providing timely guidance and emotional support to those who play such a vital role in the healthy development of our kids.

By supporting both children and the adults who care for them, we are helping to build stronger families, more successful classrooms and brighter futures from the very beginning.
